To me, the gym is fun times with a whole lotta pain, sweat and more pain. And blood too, it's so fuckn cool! I've been a pro skateboarder for 15 years and I've done a whole bunch of stunts and other dumb shit. Leaving me broken and scarred, but since I started training at Fortune's, I've never been stronger, faster and in less pain in my whole life. Why? I'm just to fuckn tough I don't feel any pain now. I learned the most important rule in life from Justin, "harden the fuck up!" So I did, thanks mate.

Not only is Fortune gym one of the coolest looking boxing gyms I've ever been in, but Fortune himself is one of the coolest and most helpful trainer I've run across. His dry sense of humor and ex-pro fighter looks may intimidate some, but he really is a softy who cares about his members and clients. That makes for a great, inviting vibe at his gym with a cool staff of trainers and people that make Fortune Gym a unique and fantastic place to train...it's my home away from home.

"I've been training with Justin for nearly four years. The times spent in the gym with him are equal parts punishment and pride. Just getting through a workout with him is somewhat of an accomplishment, likely because you know that this is how real fighters train. And while us average gym rats might never know the true demand of being a prizefighter, this gives you an idea of the minerals it takes to step in that ring. He is one of the most accomplished trainers and conditioning coaches in the sport for a reason. But his door is open to everyone. He is accessible, attentive and personable -- if you don't mind the crude Aussie swagger!"

I have been going to Fortune's for a few months now and I have never found more intense, yet fun workouts anywhere else. The conditioning classes are what professional boxers use to get in fighting shape. The pace is relentless - your anaerobic conditioning will go through the roof. Justin and his staff have decades of experience among them training world-class fighters. Former heavyweight world champions share the gym with regular Joe’s and Hollywood actors, making for a friendly, convivial atmosphere. The best thing about Fortune's is the lack of pretense or attitude - if you're there to work hard and get in shape, Justin will go to any length to help you accomplish your goals. Yoga classes with Rachel are geared towards fighters - no chanting or meditation - targeting muscles most used by fighters. Add to that, Muay Thai classes and Jui Juitsu classes, and there is no need to look anywhere else. If you want to get in the best shape in your life, it pays to have Justin in your corner.

"The beatings will continue until morale improves." Truer words were never spoken. I've been going for over five years. The beatings/work outs have remained grueling. Punishing even. But I keep going back. Fortune's smile when he sees an exercise is taxing you. Or his laugh when he watches you poorly execute a boxing maneuver is worth its weight in gold. This man is a professional. He trains real fighters and if you want a little taste of what a real fighter goes through in their training, show up for a 7am session. Beatings? Sort of. A feeling unlike any other when you're done? Definitely. Wrung out. Exhausted. Exhilarated. Ready for the day.

Hunter Thompson once described the TV business as "a cruel and shallow trench, a long plastic hallway where thieves and pimps run free, and good men die like dogs..." Training with Justin at Fortune Gym is like that. Without the plastic. It's the best part of my day.

Justin Fortune found me many years ago in Australia's outback being raised by a tribe of bushmen. I was the one that was always picked on and beaten - for one reason and one reason only. I have red hair. Justin felt sorry for me and took me under his wing. The training began with a strict diet of desert roots and tree larvae. We would dig holes in the desert floor and wait for the rains to come in order to replenish our thirst. We ate from the bones of marsupials that had fallen victim to the harsh inland summers. This was indeed many years ago. Now I am an actor in Hollywood with a membership to one of the badest (meaning goodest) boxing gyms around. Justin is saddened that I have chosen acting over world championship boxing but the training speaks for itself. From boxing to cage fighting to bar fighting to quite simply fighting off a male inferiority complex…Justin Fortune is your man.

I have been training with Justin Fortune for a number of years now (which I am afraid might make me a groupie). Fortune has helped get me in shape for triathlons, crew and a few acting roles. I can honestly say that I have never met a better trainer, enjoyed a gym more and been in better shape in my entire life. I actually look forward to working out. If you are even thinking of starting a training routine, all I can say is go, go, go... Or as they say at Fortune's "Go Hard or Go Home".

My work with Justin Fortune has been transformative. He has a methodology unlike any coach or trainer I’ve ever worked with – it’s a layered and constantly evolving process. His knowledge of the sweet science is remarkable and deep, and his approach to training is something I now use in my day to day work as a film producer. The intensity of the workouts yields amazing physical and psychological benefits, and Justin has helped me raise the bar on what I believe I can handle in both respects. All of this, and it’s just plain fun every time. Without question, there’s nothing like getting in the ring with Justin.
